What is your idea of perfect happiness? Being with entire my family.

What is your greatest fear? Not being able to what I love the most..... Designing and making clothes. It's all I have ever done since I was a teenager

Which living person do you most admire? Hilary Clinton, Michelle Obama, Diane Sawyer

What is the trait you most deplore in yourself? That I can explode when I am not careful

What is the trait you most deplore in others? Lying and always being on the fence about something.

What is your greatest extravagance? My sports car
 
What is your favorite journey? Going to Monte Carlo and Paris

On what occasion do you lie? To protect my crew when  they are not being treated right
 
What do you dislike most about your appearance? The fact I have no waistline. UGH!
 
Which living person do you most despise? All the evil people in the world!!!!!!!!!!
 
Which words or phrases do you most overuse? It is a phrase I use in the Arabic language. I will not write it out. Do not want to start anything. BUT very loosely translated it means "Damn it".  I say it all the time. Everyone just laughs at me now and waits for me to say it.
 
What I your greatest regret? Not having children
 
What or who is the greatest love of your life? My parents and grandparents. It is because of them who I inherited the talent, skills, drive and the ambition. they allowed me to have a dream and allow it to come to fruition
 
When and where were you happiest?
 ONE of my happiest moments was the 10th year of my St Jude Children's Research Hospital fund-raiser "Big Dreams Start Small". 800 people came and we raised 250,000.00 that night. That was a very happy moment!!!!!  Then of course every time I show a new collection it is a very happy moment. All that hard work being received so well. It is such a high!
 
What talent would you most like to have? Design and make clothes. Oh wait a minute, I do that. I guess I am all set with this question (LOL)

What is your current state of mind? I normally have a very happy, solid, and strong state of mind. But you are asking me 5 days before my show. So not so much today (lol)

If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be? Work smarter and be more patient. I also tend to have very high expectations in people and situations. That does not always work in my favor.

If you could change one thing about your family, what would it be? Having my brother remembering to call me from time to time, just say hi!
 
What do you consider your greatest achievement? I have 3. Building and allowing my business to grow for almost 30 years now. Mentoring so many students over the years.
And giving back to my community and charities all these years 

If you were to die and come back as a person or a thing, what do you think it would be? My MOM!!!!!!!!!!!!

What is your most treasured possession? Photos of my grandparents when they were young and then older. Photos of my parents on their wedding day and photos of my niece, nephews, friends and family

What do you regard as the lowest depth of misery? When my mom died very suddenly. I was in my in 20's and JUST started my own business. My first big test was I had to do a show for 300 people 2 days after her funeral. I don't think I have ever really gotten over that

Where would you like to live? Other than right here in Boston where I am from in the South End, it would be Monte Carlo. It is heaven on earth
 
What is your favorite occupation? Very funny!!!!!

What is the quality you like most in a man? If I thought this would help me meet Mr. Wonderful I would answer, but I think not, so I will leave that for others to answer

What is the quality you like most in a woman?
That she likes being and looking confident and not afraid to show it. That she is ok to show publicly the many sides of her.  You see and know what you get!!!!!

What do you most value in your friends? Their loyalty and trust. That they watch my back because I forget to sometimes. And that they love me, the good, the bad and the ugly sides!!!


Who is your favorite hero of fiction?
The main character that Jennifer Garner she played in the series "Alias".  That was one amazing character. She kicked butt while saving the world and looked fabulous doing it

Who are your heroes in real life?  All the men and women who protect our freedom everyday all year long. We are one very lucky country!!!!!

How would you like to die? In my sleep or at the sewing machine

What is your motto? Stay true to your vision.

Which era of fashion history do you personally romanticize the most? The 40's. All the men and woman were gorgeous. All the clothes were gorgeous!!!
 
Which three fashion icons, past or present, would you most want to meet? Coco Chanel, Valentino, and a toss between Diane von Furstenburg and Micheal Kors
 
Where did you first experience the power of fashion? Watching my grandmother make the most amazing pieces for my mom and my 2 aunts
 
What is your current go-to fashion accessory? My shoes of course!
 
How many pairs of shoes do you own? Not telling you!
 
Which contemporary designer do you believe will stand the test of time? Michael Kors. He designs for today's woman and lifestyle. But still wants them to look like a girl. And I love this designer "Denise Hajjar. I wear her things all the time.
 
Which fashion designer do you believe most influences your personal style? All the real good ones that have been around and withstood the test of time and the designer want-to-be's that pass through the night.
 
How do you weigh in on fashion versus style? I was told this in school 100 years ago. "Fashion trends come and go BUT real style is forever".  How true are those words
